Meet The Owner & Your Therapist
Sarah Cusick, M.S., SLP
I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist, feeding specialist, and mom based in Maryland. I founded Nourish Feeding and Speech after working in a variety of clinical settings and witnessing how challenging it can be for families to carry over therapy at home. My own journey as a new mom navigating feeding difficulties with my infant gave me a deeper appreciation for the importance—and impact—of in-home support.
My goal is to provide high-quality, individualized therapy with greater accessibility and flexibility for families. I believe in meeting each child and family where they are, both literally and figuratively.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Towson University. I am trained in Beckman Oral Motor Intervention and am Feed the Peds certified. I’m currently pursuing certification as a Certified Myofunctional Therapist, with the goal of completing it by 2026.
Since 2023, I’ve completed over 90 hours of continuing education in areas including speech and language development, feeding and swallowing, oral motor dysfunction, complex medical needs, genetic disorders, craniofacial differences, neurodiversity-affirming practice, trauma-informed care, and tethered oral tissues. Staying up to date with evidence-based practices is a core part of how I ensure the best care for every child I serve.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor of working with clients across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds. My clinical experience includes working in a Level III NICU, outpatient pediatric clinics, acute care hospitals, hippotherapy programs, and in-home settings.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, cooking, hiking, kayaking, and exploring local gems—whether it’s parks, restaurants, or hidden historical spots. If you have a favorite place to recommend, I’d love to hear about it!

Why work with Nourish Feeding and Speech?
-
We bring therapy directly into your home, where your child feels most comfortable. By meeting your child in their natural environment, we can address their specific needs in real-life situations—whether it’s eating at the dinner table or communicating with family members. This ensures a more seamless transition of therapy into everyday life.
-
With a passion for feeding and speech therapy, we bring a deep understanding of both the clinical and practical aspects of these challenges. We’re passionate about helping children communicate effectively and enjoy stress-free mealtimes so they can thrive.
-
We believe that therapy doesn’t end when the session is over. For children to succeed, families need to be involved and informed. That’s why we empower parents and caregivers by providing clear, easy-to-follow strategies that can be incorporated into everyday routines. Together, we work as a team to ensure that your child’s progress is supported and reinforced in the home environment, giving them the best chance to succeed long term.
-
Therapy at home eliminates the stress and anxiety families may experience in clinic settings. This approach allows for a calm, individualized space where your child can learn and develop at their own pace.
-
With therapy in the home, families see immediate, measurable progress in real-life situations. We focus on actionable strategies that parents can easily incorporate into daily routines, helping to build skills that last long after therapy sessions end.
-
We understand that every child is unique, and so is every family. We take a collaborative, empathetic approach to therapy, listening closely to your concerns, understanding your child’s specific needs, and working alongside you to achieve your family’s goals. Our priority is always the well-being of your child, and we’re committed to creating a supportive, positive experience every step of the way.
